This event will provide a pivotal platform for young surveyors from the region to enhance their expertise in land governance, enhancing their capabilities to contribute effectively to resilience strategies amid climate threats.

Harnessing Geospatial Technologies for Youth Leadership in Land Governance and Climate resilience.
 This panel explores how geospatial technologies drive disaster resilience and climate adaptation, emphasizing the role of young professionals in land governance. Experts discuss the intersection of policy, land management, and technology in building sustainable, resilient communities.

  Open Source Mapping for Climate Change and Disaster Resilience Experts present how open-source mapping tools like OpenStreetMap, QGIS, and Google Earth Engine aid climate resilience and disaster preparedness, enabling real-time mapping for emergency response and risk analysis along with some use case scenarios.

Advocacy and Land Rights Experts present their works about strategies for effective advocacy in safeguarding land rights, contributing to policy making and effective communication for policy influence and participants discuss these issues in an interactive manner.

Young Surveyors can register for the pre-event together with the full regional conference. The fee to attend both Young Surveyors meeting and the Full Regional Conference is 100 USD.

Two FIG Foundation Young Surveyor Grants

Grant for Nepalese attendees.

20 grants are available.

Selection criteria:

  • The applicant must be a Nepali citizen.
  • The applicant must be below the age of 35.
  • The applicant must have completed a B.E. in Geomatics Engineering or equivalent, or a Senior Surveying Course.
  • The applicant must have submitted full paper at the FIG Regional Conference.
  • The applicant should provide evidence of his/her significant contributions to the profession.
