Shai Hills Resource Reserve was established in 1962 with area of 47 square kilometres which was later extended to 51 square kilometres in 1973. 

The Shai Hills Resource Reserve is covered with grassland and low dry forest vegetation. There are nearly 400 plant species spread on the 5 separate hills at the Shai Hills Resource Reserve and dozens of primary animal species including antelopes, bats, birds (such as violet Turaco, Paradise Flycatcher, Green Turaco Red-billed Hornbill, Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird, and Red-necked Buzzard), baboons, cats, duiker, guinea fowls, kobs, green monkeys, monitor lizards, zebras.

Tour Itinerary:
Depart Accra for the Eastern Region to visit the over a century old botanical garden in Aburi. Take a guided tour of the gardens 10 specialty lawns- spice lawn, fruit, exotic ornamentals.

The high altitude makes Aburi noticeably cooler than neighbouring Accra. Enjoy the view on the way up, as climbing the hillsides of Aburi, offering a picturesque view of Greater Accra.

Aburi Gardens officially opened in 1890, the now century-old garden was originally established as a sanatorium for Gold Coast government officials.

The garden has had many roles over the years, including plant introduction, teaching methods of modern agriculture.

Today, the garden plays an important role as one of the world's 1,800 botanical gardens, and is leading the fight to save plant diversity through, research, conservation of medicinal plants, plant multiplication, and environmental education.

Tour of the over a century old city of Accra, Ghana's vibrant political, administrative and commercial capital. 

Drive along the historic 28th February Cross Roads housing the Independence Arch, Square and Circle and its monument commemorating Ghana's independence on 6th March 1957.

Just next door is the Centre for National Culture Accra, with its profusions of arts and crafts curio shops, the traditional textile market where you can get good buys on the colourful hand woven Traditional "Kente" cloth; the hand-stamped "adinkra" cloth, other momentous and indigenous craft items and souvenirs of Ghana.

Drive through the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum - the 3rd and final resting place of our illustrious first president and well-known Pan-Africanist.

Enjoy modern-day Jamestown as we will walk you through the Jamestown communities and show you around the ancient Port city. An experienced hand, very knowledgeable in the ROOTS and HISTORY of the Ga people of Jamestown will not only show you the community landmarks but will hand down knowledge of their rich culture. Landmarks like the traditional Chiefs’ residence, the kenkey factory and more.

This space houses the LIVE WIRE of sports so come with us to the Boxing Rings and learn about Ghana Boxing Legends. You may try on boxing gloves, padded helmets and pose for a cool photo.

Allow us take you through the basic lessons of painting at Jamestown with a professional artist. You can be trained on the brush at an art studio to become an ‘artist’ within two (2) hours.

Try your hands painting on your own canvas while enjoying some wine. It’s your choice of wine - either local or foreign.

Tour of UNESCO’s World Heritage Monuments of the Central Region and the award winning Kakum Canopy Walkway.

Depart Accra for a three hour journey to Cape Coast, capital of the Central Region continue to the Kakum National Park & Rain forest for a remarkable encounter with nature.During the hike you will learn how some roots, tree barks, leaves, fruits can cure various diseases. The canopy walkway gives you the opportunity to see life above a tropical rain forest.

Take a walk on the canopy walkway -a series of rope bridges suspended along tree tops, 30 – 40 metres above the ground! Enjoy the thrilling experience of a walk on the high places of the earth.

Arrive at the castle - tour the castle, built in 1482, the first European edifice south of the Sahara housing the first catholic church in Ghana.
