Vice President Ralf Schroth took part at ISPRS Workshop of Working Group I/5 in Castelldefels, Spain

The workshop under the theme “Theory, Technology and Realities of Inertial/GPS Sensor Orientation” took place at the Institut de Geomàtica in Castelldefels near Barcelona from 22.-23 September 2003. More than 80 participants from about 20 different countries were reporting and discussing about the current status of the inertial and GPS technology for direct sensor orientation. Vice President Ralf Schroth has strengthened the cooperation of the international sister associations ISPRS and FIG regarding the common memorandum of understanding while he has given a presentation about several applications of these techniques. He pointed out that a closer cooperation of the technical commissions would be of interest for both societies.

The workshop was a great success and the venue of the Institut de Geomàtica with its facilities and hospitality under its Director Ismael Colomina has proven the 3rd time to be the ideal location for such events.
